<h1>Centre appoints Deputy Election Commissioner and Vice-President's Joint Secretary amid major Joint Secretary-level reshuffle of 35 officials</h1> A senior 1999-batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre has been appointed Deputy Election Commissioner in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, and a 2008-batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre has been posted as Joint Secretary in the Vice-President's Secretariat. The Centre also effected a major Joint Secretary-level reshuffle, naming 35 civil servants to posts across ministries and agencies, including the Departments of Pharmaceuticals, Environment, Home Affairs, Economic Affairs, Expenditure, Financial Services, Atomic Energy, Coal, Culture, Defence education, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Fertilisers, and Information and Broadcasting, among others.
