Local police recorded the victim's statement, registered offences under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act, and are investigating, seeking to freeze implicated bank accounts, trace the perpetrators' true identities (suspect names are believed to be bogus) and recover the funds.
