State to adopt Motor Aggregator Policy aligning with Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines-2025; interim 2016 rules apply; new licensing thresholds proposed
The state government will introduce a Motor Aggregator Policy to authorize fare fixation for app-based cabs after reviewing the central Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines-2025. Pending the new state policy, current 2016 rules continue to govern aggregator permissions. Proposed licensing thresholds include a minimum of 50 motor cabs (or 25 other vehicles) for aggregator companies; the Rent-a-Cab scheme requires 50 cabs with 50% air-conditioned; bike-taxi and rent-a-motorcycle schemes require minimums of one and five two-wheelers, respectively. Company- and district-wise fleet details were placed before the legislature.
