<h1>July 2008 Customs and Excise Revenue Drops; Service Tax Revenue Rises in June 2008 Compared to Previous Year.</h1> Customs and Central Excise revenue collection for July 2008 showed a decline compared to July 2007. Customs revenue decreased by 18.7% for the month and 20.3% year-to-date, while Excise revenue fell by 8.9% for the month and 4.4% year-to-date. Overall, total revenue from Customs and Excise duties dropped by 13.5% for the month and 12.0% year-to-date. In contrast, Service Tax revenue for June 2008 increased by 21.0% for the month and 29.0% year-to-date compared to June 2007.
