Government extends stamp duty exemption to ex-servicemen and disabled, waives lease fees up to 10 years, mandates e-payment, Aadhaar authentication
A state government extended a prior stamp duty exemption for women to include ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities and announced fee waivers on lease agreements up to 10 years for small and medium rentals. It directed mandatory e-payment for registration fees above Rs 20,000, implementation of Aadhaar authentication to prevent fraud, and a single-window e-registration system for development authority allottees. Officials were instructed to fill vacancies, explore stamp sales options and rationalize vendor commissions. Progress reported includes near-complete digitisation of historic deeds, extensive use of e-stamp for current registrations, revised valuation lists and CCTV installation in sub-registrar offices.
