<h1>Chief minister directs urgent relief, evacuations, repairs, and restoration after flash floods kill eight and damage homes</h1> The state chief minister, while abroad, held a video conference with senior officials and district collectors after flash floods in the Bastar division killed eight people, killed 96 livestock, damaged about 495 houses and 16 culverts/bridges, and prompted evacuation of over 2,000 residents. Officials were instructed to provide immediate relief compensation, distribute tarpaulins, bamboo and timber poles and cash for repairs, restore road connectivity and electricity on a priority basis, accelerate rehabilitation, and deliver additional rations already allocated to affected families.
