Municipal water authority to hire private PMU for 36-month reform roadmap on tariffs, production, loss and sewage
A municipal water authority intends to appoint a private Project Management Unit (PMU) on a 36-month contract to develop and implement a roadmap for financial and operational reforms focused on river revival, tariff revision, increased water production, loss reduction, and improved sewage management. The PMU will include about 10 experts (groundwater, urban reform, IT, finance, planning) to convert programs into timed workstreams. The utility currently runs 17 water treatment plants and roughly 1,000 MGD capacity from treatment plants and tubewells, plus 37 wastewater plants. Plans include an ICT monitoring dashboard, groundwater recharge feasibility studies, and pending tariff revisions previously discussed with senior officials.
