Two countries sign five-year visa-free pact for officials and diplomats, plus MoUs on trade, culture, media, travel
Two countries agreed to sign a five-year pact allowing government officials and diplomats visa-free entry, with one government having approved it and the other's advisory council giving final approval; the visit of senior ministers will also see signing of multiple MoUs covering trade, culture, media, training and travel. Bilateral trade rose to about USD 865 million in 2024-25, with notable export increases from both sides. Relations have warmed since a change of government, accompanied by steps to resume direct shipping, ease visa and trade regimes, and begin direct flights between the two states.
