<h1>Centre grants Rs 530 crore for development of Punjab border districts to boost infrastructure, industry and resilience</h1> The central government has released a special Rs 530 crore capital grant for development of Punjab's border areas, announced by a union minister, to accelerate infrastructure, government building construction, machinery purchases and related projects across six border districts. The state had requested targeted support-including agro-processing zones, upgraded focal points, an exhibition-convention centre, bunkers, alternate connecting routes, production-linked incentives, tax and freight relief, subsidised credit and higher land compensation for holdings between the international border and fence-to make border districts more resilient and boost trade and industry.
