of <h1>Government to Issue Master Circulars on Service Tax, Seeking Feedback by June 29, 2007.</h1> The government has initiated a comprehensive review of all clarifications related to service tax since its introduction, considering statutory changes and judicial rulings. A committee, led by a former Chief Commissioner, reviewed these clarifications and submitted a report. Based on this, the government plans to issue two master circulars on technical and procedural service tax issues, replacing all previous clarifications. Feedback on the draft circulars is solicited from trade associations, departmental officers, and others by June 29, 2007. The finalized circulars will incorporate received suggestions and will be published to supersede existing communications on service tax matters.
