It has reinforced consumer grievance mechanisms with 21 circle-level forums, four zonal forums, and two corporate-level forums, with appeals to the Electricity Ombudsman available. Distribution responsibilities for quality and uninterrupted supply rest with the two regional distribution companies, which together serve over 8.19 million consumers across 21 operation circles, 63 divisions, and 282 sub-divisions. The regulator marked its 27th foundation day on August 16.
