Energy company launches 72,000-tonne green hydrogen blending plant supplying homes, CNG stations and industry, reducing emissions
An energy firm inaugurated a green hydrogen plant in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, with an annual capacity of 72,000 tonnes. The facility will supply green hydrogen blended up to 2% with natural gas into the existing city gas distribution network for household, CNG station and industrial use. The firm holds licences to provide CNG and piped natural gas in neighboring districts and already operates CNG stations and domestic and industrial connections. Officials said the project is the state's first green hydrogen plant and the country's largest hydrogen-natural gas blending initiative in the CGD sector, intended to reduce emissions and build early hydrogen demand.
