        <h1>Deposit refund scheme to return chit fund victims' money, requiring claims to be submitted to sub-divisional magistrates.</h1> A state-administered deposit refund scheme will restore deposits to individuals defrauded by chit fund companies using recoveries realised through auctions of seized properties. Affected depositors must submit claims to their sub-divisional magistrates with identity and investment proofs (Aadhaar, bank passbook); legal heirs may claim on presentation of a death certificate and identity and banking documents. The court ordered publicity of scheme details in multiple local newspapers, including vernacular editions, to ensure awareness.
