Tamil Nadu launches Technology Transfer Facilitation Centre at Anna University to bridge academia-industry gap for deep-tech innovation commercialization
The Tamil Nadu Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services inaugurated a Technology Transfer Facilitation Centre at Anna University's College of Engineering campus. The center aims to bridge the gap between academic institutions, research organizations, startups, and industries by facilitating efficient transfer of deep-tech innovations. The Tamil Nadu Technology Transfer Facilitation Centre addresses systemic challenges including fragmented networks, regulatory barriers, and commercialization hurdles. The facility will enable the state to compete internationally in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology, and clean energy sectors. Funded by the Government of Tamil Nadu under Innovation Initiatives, the center serves as a centralized platform for technology commercialization, global collaborations, IP management, licensing, and market analysis. It will support startups, MSMEs, and researchers through structured funding, training, and mentorship programs while facilitating joint projects and consulting engagements.
