<h1>Uttar Pradesh deploys drones, AI gates, RFID tags in Integrated Mining Surveillance System against illegal mining</h1> The Uttar Pradesh government is implementing advanced surveillance technologies through the Integrated Mining Surveillance System to combat illegal mining and transportation. Current monitoring includes drones, geo-fencing, RFID tags, and AI-powered check gates. The state plans to introduce Weigh-In-Motion technology to track vehicle overloading. The Department of Geology and Mining has deployed multiple tech interventions including geo-fenced mining zones, camera-equipped weighbridges, and RFID-tagged transport vehicles. Fifty-seven unmanned IoT and AI-based check gates have been installed across 25 districts, connected to a central command center. The department is collaborating with the Transport Commissioner for WIM system installation. To improve digital transparency, the state's mining portal is being integrated with the Ministry of Environment's portal, enabling streamlined monitoring of environmental clearance certificates and faster enforcement actions in mining areas.
