<h1>Joint venture rifle manufacturer to deliver 6.01 lakh assault rifles 22 months ahead of October 2032 deadline</h1> A joint venture company manufacturing assault rifles in Uttar Pradesh will complete delivery of 6.01 lakh rifles 22 months ahead of the October 2032 deadline, finishing by December 2030. The company operates under a Rs 5,200 crore contract and has delivered 48,000 rifles so far, with production set to increase to 12,000 monthly from 2026. The joint venture has 50.5% Indian and 49.5% Russian shareholding, operates from an 8.5-acre facility, and employs over 260 personnel. The company has achieved 50% indigenisation and received complete technology transfer from Russia. Each rifle undergoes 120 processes with 50 components and 180 sub-parts, having a 15,000-round lifespan. The company plans to export to friendly nations once domestic requirements are met, with the first export order expected soon. The rifles will replace existing weapons for soldiers deployed along northern and western borders.
