<h1>Maharashtra investors lose Rs 25,000 crore to financial fraud schemes over past decade</h1> Maharashtra's Chief Minister revealed that approximately 2.71 lakh investors in Mumbai were defrauded of Rs 2.95 lakh crore over the past decade. Additionally, 1.05 crore investors across Maharashtra excluding Mumbai lost Rs 22,552 crore during the same period. From 2016-2025, the state registered 46,321 cyber crime cases involving Rs 11,033.97 crore in financial fraud. In 2024 alone, 58,157 cases worth Rs 1,186.46 crore were reported through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. The state currently operates 50 cyber police stations and has established a Financial Intelligence Unit to detect fraudulent investment schemes.
