<h1>1997-batch IPS officer appointed as Mizoram Director General of Police replacing 1996-batch incumbent transferred to Delhi</h1> A 1997-batch IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre has been appointed as Mizoram's new Director General of Police, replacing the incumbent 1996-batch officer who has been transferred to Delhi. The new appointee currently serves as special commissioner in Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing. The outgoing DGP had held the position since June 2023. The state Chief Minister had previously requested the Centre to appoint a different 1995-batch IPS officer for the role, but the Ministry of Home Affairs proceeded with the current appointment.
