<h1>India's April 2007 Trade: Exports Rise by 23%, Imports Surge by 41%, Doubling Trade Deficit Compared to Last Year.</h1> India's foreign trade for April 2007 showed significant growth in both exports and imports compared to the previous year, according to provisional data from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence Statistics. Exports increased by 23.06% to $10,575.11 million, while imports rose by 40.69% to $17,635.33 million. This resulted in a trade deficit of $7,060.22 million, up from $3,941.02 million in April 2006. In terms of Indian Rupees, exports grew by 15.39% to Rs. 44,572.18 crores.
