<h1>Simplified PF Withdrawal: EPFO Removes Cancelled Cheque Requirement and Employer Verification for Faster Claim Settlements</h1> The retirement fund body EPFO has simplified the provident fund withdrawal process by eliminating two requirements: uploading cancelled cheque images and employer verification of bank accounts. This change streamlines claim settlements for nearly eight crore members and improves ease of doing business for employers. Initially tested with KYC-updated members since May 2024, the relaxation has now been extended to all members after benefiting 1.7 crore users. The reform addresses delays in the approval process, which previously took employers an average of 13 days to complete. The simplified process will immediately benefit over 14.95 lakh members whose approvals were pending with employers.
