The government sanctioned Rs 101.20 crore equity capital and will establish a state-level holding company to oversee seven divisional companies. This initiative follows the 2004 closure of the MP State Transport Corporation due to financial losses, which left a void filled by private operators. Currently, Special Purpose Vehicles for public transport exist in 20 cities, with 16 operational.
