The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has sanctioned Rs 6.00 crore to Government of Rajasthan and Rs. 5.97 crore to Government of Chattisgarh for construction of a multipurpose indoor Hall under Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme (USIS).

Out of Rs 6.00 crores sanctioned to Government of Rajasthan for construction of a multipurpose indore Hall at Karauli, a sum of Rs. 1.80 crore is being released by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports as first instalment. The balance amount will be released in two instalments after receipt of Utilzation Certificate(UC) and settlement of accounts for the sum of Rs. 1.80 crore being released now.

Out of Rs. 5,97,79,000/- sanction to Government of Chattisgarh for construction of a Multi-purpose Indoor Hall at Kondagaon, District Kondagaon under USIS, a sum of Rs.1.80 crore is being released as first instalment. The balance amount will be released in two instalments after receipt of Utilzation Certificate(UC) and settlement of accounts for the sum of Rs. 1.80 crore being released now.

Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports is implementing a Central Scheme, namely, Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme (USIS), on a pilot basis with effect from the year 2010-11.This scheme aims at construction of (i) Synthetic playing surface( for hockey, football and athletics; and(ii) multi-purpose indoor hall. State Governments, Local Civic Bodies, Schools, Colleges and Universities under Central/ State Governments and Sports Control Boards are eligible to receive financial assistance under this scheme

Central assistance under Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme released as first instalments, balance conditioned on utilization certificates. Central financial assistance under the Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme was sanctioned for multi purpose indoor halls in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, with initial instalments released and remaining funds conditional on receipt of Utilization Certificates and settlement of accounts for amounts already released.
