IFC Invests in Alteria Capital's Shorter Duration Scheme to Boost Short-Term Financing for Indian SMEs
Venture debt manager Alteria Capital announced that the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has invested in its Shorter Duration Scheme (SDS), targeting short-term liquidity needs for SMEs, including fintech companies, consumer brands, and EV OEMs. This investment aims to enhance Alteria Capital's role as a comprehensive provider of structured credit for new economy companies in India. The firm noted a significant demand for venture debt, having funded USD 200 million to Indian start-ups in 2024, and identified a gap in short-term financing options. Alteria Capital, established in 2017, manages assets worth Rs 4,500 crore.
