Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA)

        11-October-2012 12:14 IST

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved that the payment of fertilizer subsidy to companies will be based on the receipt of fertilizers and the acknowledgement of receipts of fertilizers by the retailers (last point of sale of fertilizers). The acknowledgement of the receipt will be tracked on the ICT enabled mobile Fertilizer Monitoring System (mFMS) and the fertilizer Monitoring System (FMS). A part of the subsidy will be paid on receipt of fertilizers in the district to the companies.

The CCEA further approved that the Department of Fertilizers will also be carrying out a pilot in 10 districts for information visibility on sale of fertilizers to the farmers. This will also be tracked through ICT enabled tools, and identification of the farmers will be done through the Kisan Credit Card, Aadhaar No., Bank A/c. No. etc. The pilot will be started by the end of this year.
