<h1>Taxpayers Disclose Rs 30,300 Crore in Foreign Assets After Government Nudge Campaign, Boosting Compliance</h1> Over 30,000 taxpayers have disclosed additional foreign assets and income totaling approximately Rs 30,300 crore following a government-led nudge campaign, according to the Finance Minister. The initiative involved sending SMS and emails to 19,501 selected taxpayers, encouraging them to review their 2024-25 income tax returns. As a result, 11,162 taxpayers revised their returns, declaring foreign assets worth Rs 11,259.29 crore and foreign income of Rs 154.42 crore. Additionally, 883 taxpayers corrected their residency status, and 13,516 more disclosed foreign assets and income. Overall, the campaign led to significant voluntary disclosures, enhancing tax compliance.
