Sensex and Nifty Surge with Foreign Fund Inflows and Blue-Chip Buying; Major Gains for Power Grid and Reliance.
Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rose significantly in early trade due to fresh foreign fund inflows and increased buying in blue-chip stocks. The Sensex increased by 592.78 points to 77,498.29, while the Nifty rose by 169.3 points to 23,519.70. Major gainers included Power Grid, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Reliance Industries. Foreign Institutional Investors purchased equities worth Rs 7,470.36 crore. Despite lower trading in Asian markets, a positive trend in US markets supported the rally. Improving Indian economic conditions and fair valuations have encouraged foreign investors to become buyers. Brent crude oil prices slightly decreased.
