The Union Minister of Commerce Industry and Textiles Shri Anand Sharma met Mr Armando Emilio Guebuza, President of the Republic of Mozambique at Maputo today. Shri Sharma handed over the messages of the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh and The Congress President Smt Sonia Gandhi on the 50th Anniversary of FRELIMO party of Mozambique to President Armando Emilio Guebuza. Shri Sharma is the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister at the 50th Anniversary celebration of FRELIMO party.
In his message the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh conveyed the wishes of the people and the Government of India on the occasion. “India’s relations with Mozambique are founded on our common struggle and collaboration against colonialism and our patnership for socio-economic development of Mozambique”, said the Prime Minister in his message to President Guebuza. Smt Sonia Gandhi wrote “ History bears tesimony to the remarkable bond between our people in a righteous struggle for freedom and a life of dignity.”
