Goa's Chief Minister Achieves Six Consecutive Years, Prepares for Sixth Budget; Eyes Full Five-Year Term Milestone
Goa's Chief Minister has made history by serving six consecutive years in office, surpassing the tenure of previous leaders. Initially taking office in 2019 following the death of his predecessor, he was re-elected in 2022 after his party won the state assembly elections. Despite this achievement, his predecessor held the record for the longest cumulative tenure. The current CM has presented five state budgets and is preparing to present his sixth. If he completes his current term, he would become only the second CM in Goa's history to serve a full five-year term since the state's establishment in 1987.
