The visit, confirmed by Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. During the visit, new memoranda of understanding will be signed, and the Sampur solar power station will be inaugurated. The solar power project, a collaboration between Sri Lanka's Ceylon Electricity Board and India's NTPC, aims to generate 135 MW in eastern Trincomalee. This will mark PM Modi's fourth visit to Sri Lanka since 2015.
