The Department of Fisheries produced 12.60 lakh rainbow trout-eyed ova and 1.74 lakh brown trout-eyed ova from government farms, with total production expected to exceed 20 lakh. The private sector also aims to match this volume. Trout production is projected to increase to 1,600 metric tonnes in 2024-25. Initiatives like Recirculating Aquaculture Systems in Kullu are enhancing aquaculture, inspiring youth, and contributing to food security and economic growth.
