<h1>Microfinance Loan Disbursements Drop 35.8% in Q3 2024; Portfolio at Risk Rises to 8.8% from 3.5% Last Year</h1> Microfinance loan disbursements fell by 35.8% to Rs 22,091 crore in the third quarter ending December 2024, compared to the same period the previous year, according to the Microfinance Institution Network. The assets under management decreased slightly by 0.1% to Rs 1,42,695 crore. The average loan amount per account increased by 15.2% to Rs 51,691 crore. The portfolio at risk rose to 8.8% from 3.5% a year earlier. Non-banking financial company microfinance institutions received Rs 12,921 crore in debt funding, mostly from banks, while total equity increased by 9.3% to Rs 35,451 crore.
