Speaking at the conclusion of the MRCC OPS & SAR course in Mumbai, the official highlighted the importance of Search and Rescue (SAR) coordination training. The course, attended by 22 participants from six countries, focused on Maritime Search and Rescue planning, satellite-aided operations, and case studies. The MRCC in Mumbai, operational 24/7, coordinated over 2,100 alerts in 2024, including international rescue efforts. The course, part of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation initiative, has grown since its inception in 2021.
