<h1>New Inland Waterways Terminal Opens on Brahmaputra River, Boosting Trade Between Bhutan and Bangladesh by 2027</h1> Union minister inaugurated a new Inland Waterways Terminal on the Brahmaputra River in Jogighopa, Assam, enhancing connectivity between Bhutan and Bangladesh. This terminal, located strategically near the borders of both countries, is expected to significantly boost bilateral trade. Two ships and two barges were flagged off to Bangladesh, carrying coal and stone chips. The terminal, costing over Rs 82 crore, features advanced infrastructure, including a jetty, administrative buildings, and storage facilities. By 2027, it aims to handle 1.1 million tonnes of cargo annually, serving as an economic catalyst for the region.
