The state imports fish from Bangladesh and other Indian states to bridge this gap. A Rs 43 crore integrated aqua park is being developed in Unakoti district, anticipated to produce up to 3,000 metric tonnes annually. Additionally, Rs 160 crore was allocated in the state budget for fisheries development, with significant support from the North Eastern Council.
