Air India to Boost UK, Europe, Far East Asia, and Africa Flights; Suspends Mumbai-Melbourne, Kochi-London Services
Air India plans to increase flights on routes connecting the UK, Europe, Far East Asia, and Africa from March 30 while suspending the Mumbai-Melbourne and Kochi-London Gatwick services due to a temporary fleet reduction amid a retrofit of Boeing 787 planes. The retrofit of Boeing 777 aircraft has been delayed to early 2026. The airline will add flights on several routes, including Delhi-London Heathrow, Amritsar-Birmingham, and Delhi-Zurich. The Delhi-Hong Kong route will switch to B787 Dreamliner aircraft. The narrow-body aircraft modernization is on track to complete by mid-2025.
