        <h1>Government Launches Urban Challenge Fund and Maritime Development Fund to Boost Urban Projects and Maritime Sector Growth</h1> The government plans to establish an Urban Challenge Fund of Rs 1 lakh crore to finance up to 25% of bankable urban projects, with Rs 10,000 crore allocated for 2025-26. This initiative aims to transform cities into growth hubs and promote creative redevelopment. Measures to enhance electricity distribution and the financial health of DISCOMS were also announced, including allowing states additional borrowing of 0.5% of their GDP. Furthermore, a Maritime Development Fund with a corpus of Rs 25,000 crore will be created to support distribution and foster competition in the maritime sector.
