This includes developing a new underground mine at Chapri and commissioning a concentrator plant. Mining at Rakha Mines was halted in 2001 due to unviable operations. The agreement was signed in Ranchi with the presence of the Union Minister of Coal and Mines. The project involves a capital expenditure of approximately Rs 2,700 crore and aims to create employment for about 10,000 people, with a tenure of 20 years, extendable by another 10 years.
