<h1>Northeast India's Largest Eri Silk Mill Opens in Assam, Promising Jobs and Boosting Rural Economy.</h1> Northeast India's largest Eri silk spinning mill was inaugurated in Baksa district, Assam, by the Bodoland Territorial Council Chief Executive Member. Developed by the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation, the plant spans 12,916 sq ft and was built at a cost of approximately Rs 14.92 crore. It features 960 ring frame spindles and a production capacity of 450 kg per day. The project aims to bolster the rural economy and create sustainable livelihoods, particularly for women. It is expected to provide direct employment to 375 people and indirectly benefit around 50,000 households.
