The administration, in collaboration with the Union Power Ministry, is committed to implementing these reforms. J&K spends Rs 9,500 crore annually on power purchases, and despite supplying 1,700-1,800 MW, demand exceeds supply. Efforts are underway to reduce AT&C losses from over 50% to below 20%.
