Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd, a government-owned entity, emerged from the unbundling of the Punjab State Electricity Board in 2010. GVK Power (Goindwal Sahib) Limited, a subsidiary of GVK Energy Limited, operates a 540 MW coal-based thermal power plant. This acquisition is part of a resolution plan, with Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd set to become the successful resolution applicant. A detailed order from the Commission will follow.
