As informed by Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), the number of beneficiaries above the age of 60 years, under the National Pension System (NPS) is 5,67,116. This was stated by the Union Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Kisanrao Karad in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.
This includes beneficiaries who are contributing under NPS after the age of 60 years and those who have exited NPS after the age of 60 years and are receiving annuity. The State/UT-wise details are given at ANNEXURE A, the Minister stated.
NPS beneficiaries above age 60: continued contributions and annuity receipt recognized under NPS framework in government data National Pension System beneficiaries above age 60 total 5,67,116, comprising individuals who continue to contribute after age 60 and those who have exited after 60 and are receiving annuity payments.
