<h1>DRI and Indian Coast Guard Seize 17.74 kg of Smuggled Gold Worth Rs 10.1 Crore Off Tamil Nadu Coast.</h1> The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), in collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard, seized 17.74 kg of foreign-origin gold valued at approximately Rs 10.1 crore from the seabed off the Tamil Nadu coast. The gold was thrown into the sea by smugglers from a fishing boat near Mandapam. The operation followed intelligence that a gang planned to smuggle gold from Sri Lanka. Three individuals involved have been apprehended. The gold was retrieved with the assistance of Coast Guard divers. This seizure is part of a larger effort, with DRI having seized 209 kg of gold in the current financial year.
