India-Qatar Virtual Networking Event Boosts Trade for GI, Organic, and Natural Agri Products.
The government organized a Virtual Networking Meet for Agri and Food Geographical Indication (GI) products with Qatar, involving over 80 participants, including exporters, importers, and officials from the Indian Embassy and APEDA. The event aimed to enhance India-Qatar bilateral trade, focusing on promoting GI, organic, and natural products. These products, sourced directly from farmers, hold significant export potential, such as Basmati Rice and Mangoes. APEDA has played a crucial role in boosting agricultural exports, contributing around 50% to India's agri exports in 2021-22. India has over 400 registered GIs, with 150 in agriculture and food products.
