<h1>BRICS CGETI Meeting Focuses on Enhancing Intra-BRICS Trade, E-Commerce, and Non-Tariff Measures; Proposals Advance for September Meeting.</h1> The BRICS Contact Group on Economic and Trade Issues (CGETI) meeting, chaired by India, took place from July 12-14, 2021. The group discussed India's proposals to enhance intra-BRICS trade and cooperation, focusing on multilateral trading systems, consumer protection in e-commerce, non-tariff measures, and frameworks for genetic resources and professional services. The members agreed to advance these proposals in preparation for the BRICS Trade Ministers' meeting on September 3, 2021. Additionally, India proposed events such as a BRICS Trade Fair, a roundtable for MSMEs, and workshops on services trade statistics, which were also accepted by the members.
