It is part of the East Coast Economic Corridor, connecting India to Asian production networks. The initiative focuses on reducing logistics costs, boosting industrial competitiveness, and incorporating climate resilience and road safety measures. The project will also enhance the planning capabilities of Tamil Nadu's Highways and Minor Ports Department.
