DPIIT Reforms Ease Boiler Inspections: Self-Certification, Third-Party Checks, Online Registration Under Indian Boilers (Amendment) Act, 2007.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has implemented reforms to enhance the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) concerning boiler inspections. These reforms include self-certification, third-party inspections, and online registration for boiler certification across various states. The Central Boilers Board has recognized eleven third-party inspecting authorities, and independent competent persons are authorized for in-service inspections. DPIIT, through the National Productivity Council, conducts workshops to improve boiler efficiency and energy conservation. These measures aim to streamline the inspection process, protect manufacturers' interests, and maintain safety standards without compromising quality. The Indian Boilers (Amendment) Act, 2007, supports these initiatives by updating safety norms and inspection procedures.
