<h1>GST Council Forms Group to Explore Revenue Strategies for Natural Disasters; Report Due by October 31, 2018.</h1> The GST Council, during its 30th meeting, discussed Kerala's proposal to impose a cess on SGST for flood rehabilitation. Consequently, a 7-member Group of Ministers (GoM) was formed to explore revenue mobilization strategies for natural calamities and disasters. The Union Finance Minister approved this initiative, appointing the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar as the convenor. Other members include finance ministers from Assam, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. The GoM is tasked with delivering a report by October 31, 2018.
