<h1>India Leads as Vice Chair of WCO Asia Pacific Region, Focus on E-commerce and Trade Security 2018-2020.</h1> India has assumed the role of Vice Chair for the Asia Pacific Region of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) from July 2018 to June 2020. This position allows India to lead efforts in enhancing cross-border trade security and facilitation. To commemorate this, an event was held in New Delhi, attended by customs delegations from 33 Asia-Pacific countries and industry representatives. The event included a keynote address by the WCO Secretary General and focused on the role of customs in e-commerce, highlighting the importance of efficient clearance and delivery of shipments. The WCO, representing 182 customs administrations, processes 98% of global trade.
