Initiated by the Indian government, APY targets unorganized sector workers, offering a guaranteed monthly pension of Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 5,000 at age 60, based on contributions. The scheme also benefits the subscriber's spouse and nominee. A nationwide outreach campaign, APY Formation Day, was organized to boost enrollments through banks and post offices. With 1.60 lakh branches participating, Rs. 3,950 crores have been collected, achieving a 9.10% CAGR. Top states for APY mobilization include Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu.
