Launched on October 2, 2016, SPICe features standardized e-Memorandum and e-Articles of Association as per the Companies Act, 2013, and allows for incorporation applications with pre-approved company names. It mandates the use of Digital Signature Certificates for subscribers and witnesses and enables machine tracking of changes. Technical issues are addressed through a ticketing system, supported by dedicated email and helpline services. This initiative was detailed by the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs in a written statement to the Rajya Sabha.
